I play video games, am a DM on friday nights, a computer nerd with my own network equipment and server PC at home, I am an IT professional as my day job, I work part time for an indie game dev as a side hustle, and I just got into warhammer 40k. I think I am approaching king of the nerds status. My wife says video games are for little kids, even as I play things like GTA 5, dead space, and Cyberpunk. She calls my computer equipment clutter and is always trying to talk me into throwing some away. She’s ok with DnD because it gets me out of the house for a night so she can have alone time. But warhammer, she sees the price tags on the sets and how much I spent in a short time and just sees more clutter. She doesn’t say much other than “looks nice” whenever I come out with a fully painted mini but I know she doesn’t give a shit. I am the asshole if she tries to schedule something on Friday nights and I have DnD and say I am busy. She hates how much time I spend on my computer and claims that even when I work from home, I am not giving her attention. Shes a nerd too, but in a very different way than me.
