I’m still not sure that I agree though…) My lazy eye especially comes out when I’m tired or after a couple (read: 2) drinks, or when both are together. That being said, I’m so sorry that you were treated how you were. I remember hating my eye patch, but they gave me stickers to add to it, and my best friend at 2-5 yo was kind and understanding and never made fun of it as children can do. We also both had awful speech impediments, to the point where our parents had trouble understanding us, but we knew exactly what the other one was saying all the time. I’ve had coworkers ask about it (I was traveling to Europe so very jetlagged and therefore, my eye was off doing its own thing, whereas I can often semi pass when completely rested), which was a bit mortifying, but also I know the person was just curious. It’s something I’m very self conscious about, but it didn’t leave me scarred because growing up, people really didn’t tease me about it, and I still had friends. I was never attracting a ton of male attention either, only dated a couple guys before settling down, but I was never made to feel it was because of my eye. I just wanted to leave this here and say others do understand, and I’m so sorry you were treated that way, because it doesn’t have to be that way. Don’t be shamed for doing something that you love, if they love you they will realize that it is good for your mental health, and support you. I was in a Cat Lovely Cat Lovely Kitten Hawaiian Shirt where I was belittled for it, and I was miserable. Argument was that it was expensive, and I didn’t spend enough time with her. Spent less than $500 a year on it which I personally don’t think is unreasonable, and the relationship ended up breaking down, and she cited that I didn’t give her any space/time to herself as one of the reasons. Honestly dude, have a serious discussion with her, and if she responds negatively I would have a Cat Lovely Cat Lovely Kitten Hawaiian Shirt hard think about the future, because this mentality generally spills over in to other things in your relationship/life together.
